Love Your Weekend – Chichester Cathedral

Chichester Cathedral’s Choir took centre stage on ITV’s Love Your Weekend with Alan Titchmarsh on Sunday.

The heartwarming feature followed the Choir’s journey as they prepared for the busiest date in their calendar – Advent and Christmas.

Viewers were treated to an exclusive behind-the-scenes glimpse into the world of the choir, with interviews featuring key figures such as Organist & Master of the Choristers, Charles Harrison, and Interim Dean of Chichester, The Reverend Canon Simon Holland.

These conversations offered insights into the dedication, passion, and skill that go into creating the choir’s world-class performances.

In the programme, Charles highlights the importance of music to the life of the cathedral: “The Choir’s work is sometimes described as the heartbeat of the Cathedral. Whatever’s going on in the troubled world, of whatever challenges individuals are facing, they can rely on…  the Choir, turning out and singing services every day.”

The programme also shined a light on the Cathedral’s Choristers, who receive their education at the neighbouring Prebendal School, a rich tradition that has taken place for centuries.
