Prayer and Reflection at St Paul’s Cathedral Today

A Service of Prayer and Reflection on the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II to be held at St Paul’s Cathedral today, Friday 9th September

A Service of Prayer and Reflection on the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II will be held in St Paul’s Cathedral today (Friday 9th September 2022) at 18:00. To prepare for the service St Paul’s Cathedral is closed and will reopen for private prayer and services on Saturday 10th September.

The public are welcome to attend this service and 2,000 available seats will be allocated to the public on a first come first served basis. Those wishing to attend the service must visit in person to the City of London tourism office, Carter Lane, EC4M 8BX to collect a wristband from 11:00. The wristbands must be collected in person, one wristband per person. There will be no admittance to St Paul’s Cathedral without a wristband.

Once all the wristbands have been assigned, the public are encouraged to watch the live broadcast of the service on BBC1 at home.

For wristband holders attending the service the queue for security opens at 15:00. The doors to the Cathedral will open at 16:00. All attendees must be seated by 17:00. A number of security measures will be in place include security screening and bag searches. Those wishing to attend are asked not to bring bags wherever possible.

The Order of Service will be available on St Paul’s Cathedral website shortly before the service will be broadcast live on BBC 1.

St Paul’s Cathedral will be closed to prepare for the service on Friday 9th September.

St Paul’s will reopen for private prayer and worship from Saturday 10th September.
