Evensong – Hereford Cathedral shares its music for all to hear
07th February 2019
Sharing our Evensong far and wide…
Hereford Cathedral shares its music and ministry with all who wish to hear it.
This week BBC3’s Choral Evensong service came live from Hereford – but the Cathedral began recording services back in Autumn 2015 to offer people from the city and beyond a snapshot of cathedral life.
Now it regularly uploads its worship to its newly refreshed website. A different service is made available each week and allows those unable to join in to be able to participate in the daily round of worship and the occasional sermon so central to the life of our cathedrals. And there is an archive available too.
Not only are the webcasts popular with congregation members who share them with friends and family, they also prove popular with people living overseas and those who, for a variety of reasons, aren’t able to attend the cathedral as regularly as they wish to.
BBC 3’s Choral Evensong from Hereford was conducted by their Director of Music, Geraint Bowen with Assistant Director of Music, Peter Dyke. You can listen again here. It featured:

First Lesson: Baruch 5: 1–9
Short Service Byrd
