Light, Glass & Stone is an exhibition about the cathedral’s project to conserve the 600-year-old St Cuthbert Window. It tells the story of the life and miracles of one of Northern England’s most significant saints.
It is one of the largest surviving narrative windows in the world and among the finest remaining examples of the art and techniques of medieval glaziers and stonemasons.
The exhibition runs until the end of 2023 so do take the rare opportunity to see at close range original stained glass panels removed from the window as part of the conservation project.
