Carlisle Cathedral is one of the jewels of North West England, standing close to the border with Scotland for almost 900 years. Visitors from all over the world come here to marvel at its many treasures, including the magnificent painted barrel ceiling.
Entrance to the Cathedral is free, and Guides are on hand to help you make the most of your time here. Visit the Treasury Exhibition, and our younger visitors can follow Brother Herbert’s I -Spy trail to win a prize. Call in at the delightful gift shop stocking many unusual gifts, and relax in the Prior’s Kitchen for refreshments.
