26th April 2018
The Royal Wedding between Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will take place on Saturday May 19 in St George’s Chapel in the grounds of Windsor Castle, the official residence of the Queen.
St George’s Chapel is a “Royal Peculiar”. You can find out what a Royal Peculiar is here.
The wedding service will begin at 12 noon and will be conducted by the Dean of Windsor, the Very Revd David Conner while the Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby will officiate as the couple exchange their vows.
At 1pm the newly weds will leave the Chapel for a carriage procession through the town of Windsor
“to provide an opportunity for more people to come together and enjoy the atmosphere of the special day,” Kensington Palace said.
They will return to Windsor Castle for a reception hosted by the Queen in St George’s Hall for the couple and guests from the congregation before a private evening reception for close family and friends hosted by the Prince Charles, Harry’s father.
The couple who announced their engagement in November are planning their own wedding celebration that reflects their characters, one of joy, fun and a chance to celebrate with the public.
