Slow road to Newcastle – National Cathedrals Conference
10th May 2022
With a nod to the key themes of the National Cathedrals Conference, Southwark Cathedral’s canon missioner, Jay Colwill, set off on his bike today to ride the 300 miles to Newcastle in time for the start of the conference next Monday.
Not content with cycling straight up the A1, he aims to go via the ten cathedrals of Coventry-Birmingham-Lichfield-Chester-Liverpool-Manchester-Blackburn-Ripon-Carlisle-Durham he missed after a sat nav malfunction during his time cycling the new 2,000 mile National Cathedrals Cycle Route last year!
All donated money will go to Bermondsey Food Pantry – you can make a contribution here.
He is pictured setting off from Southwark Cathedral with Dean, Andrew Nunn’s blessing.
