National Volunteers Week – Thank You!
01st June 2021
Volunteers are a vital part of our cathedral life. They are our unsung army without whom our cathedrals would be so much less. They are the foundations, the pillars, the very buttresses of our cathedrals, always there, ever present, supporting our life and ministry.
Welcome back and Thank You to all our Volunteers.
They are a loyal community of committed and steadfast people drawn from a wide range of the local population.
And for many, the last year, which saw our doors closed, and our visitors prevented from visiting, has been particularly hard.
So, as we are able once more to open up slowly and safely to welcome back visitors, we want to say a huge thank you and offer a warm welcome back to our thousands of volunteers as they too take those tentative steps on the road out of lockdown restrictions towards recovery.
To all the welcomers, the tea makers, the stewards, the tomb dusters, the polishers, the beekeepers, the gardeners, the cake makers, the tour guides, the shop workers, the café workers, the servers and the flower arrangers: WELCOME BACK AND THANK YOU!
