“Best seats in the house”

Introducing Karen – volunteer live streamer at  Guildford Cathedral

Thank you Karen!

Live-streaming Services at Guildford Cathedral started at the start of the Covid 19 lockdown. During this time and post lockdown, live streaming enabled them to become accessible to a worldwide audience, which continues today.

Karen has been a live streaming volunteer for the last two years.

Karen said:

“I enjoy streaming as it gives you the best seats in the house with the best sound without having to leave the comfort of your own home.

“I get to be in the building and experience the atmosphere and I get to watch through the cameras. I also enjoy the challenge of trying to point the cameras to get the best shots. It might look complicated, but the system used is straight forward, and the team of streamers are supportive.

“It is a real worthwhile thing to do that enables those that cannot come to the Cathedral services to take part, wherever they are in the world.”

It is thanks to Guildford’s team of livestream volunteers that its wonderful Music and Worship extends beyond its location on Stag Hill.
