Museum and Heritage Awards 2021

18th May 2021

Three of our cathedrals shortlisted for Museum and Heritage Awards 2021

And the shortlist is … drum roll please as three of our cathedrals are up for awards in this year’s prestigious Museum and Heritage Awards.

The shortlisted nominations for the awards, which aim to celebrate all things great in museums and heritage across the globe, were published last week with

  • Chichester Cathedral, Jacqueline Creswell, Ash Mills & 10 Partners in Partnership of the Year for The Chichester Nativity
  • Lichfield Cathedral – nominated in the Pandemic Pivot Award for 20 plus FT employees for beacon of hope in a pandemic
  • Salisbury Cathedral – for Exhibition of the year with its Celebrating 800 years of ‘Spirit and Endeavour’

This year there were a record number of entries for the Awards which are sponsored by Chargeurs Creative Collection, making competition tougher than ever before and, of course, all against the most challenging of backdrops.

And in recognition of a year like no other, there is an award with a difference – the Covid Special Recognition Award for the person you think has pushed themselves beyond all normal limits to make a difference to their organisation, colleagues, the wider sector or community during the pandemic and ALVA’s Bernard Donoghue who has been a huge support to our cathedrals during the last 12 months has found himself on the shortlist!!
