Garden of Remembrance – Hereford Cathedral

08th November 2022

The Garden of Remembrance has just been installed by The Royal British Legion at Hereford Cathedral ahead of Remembrance Sunday this weekend.

The Field of Crosses Garden was formally opened at noon on the 7th November with a special service of dedication led by Dean of Hereford, the Very Revd Sarah Brown.

“As we prepare for Remembrance Sunday, when the people of the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth will pause in silence at the eleventh hour to recall the human cost of war, and in gratitude honour the sacrifice of those who laid down their lives in the defence of this realm, let us pray that this field of crosses may be a comfort to the bereaved, a witness to the young, and a solemn warning to us all that, in the struggle against evil, the cost of valour can be very high.”

The Garden is open between 8.00am and 5.00pm daily.
