The BFG in pictures, is a touring exhibition from House of Illustration, curated by Quentin Blake.
Roald Dahl’s much-loved story of orphan Sophie and her giant friend has touched hearts across the world and has remained in print ever since its publication in 1982. This exhibition contains 40 reproductions of Blake’s illustrations and will include both the artist’s initial drawings and the final drawings which were used in the book.
The reproduced illustrations included in this exhibition have been carefully selected by Quentin Blake and, when reflecting on the images chosen, the artist emphasises his desire to portray different versions of the BFG. It is hoped this exhibition will provide a glimpse of a BFG that could have been.
