The members of the Assistant Cathedral Organists Association are all serving Cathedral Assistants (Organists or Choir Directors), or those who work in similar roles in similar institutions. There are some members who are Directors of Music in large parish churches but they are the exception. In places where there are two Assistants (such as Westminster Abbey which has a Sub-Organist and an Assistant Organist) both can be members.
The Association provides professional development opportunities for its members through conferences, both in the UK and abroad. Membership is free but there is a small charge for conferences.
The Association’s chairman is Nigel Morris from St Chad’s Cathedral, Birmingham.
