Vivienne Faull was installed as Dean of York in December 2012. She was formerly the Dean of Leicester, a position to which she was appointed in 2000 having previously been Vice Provost of Coventry and chaplain of Gloucester Cathedral. She led Leicester Cathedral through major change (including a £12m redevelopment and reordering scheme in partnership with the Diocese and Board of Finance). She was a ‘synodical Dean’ from 2004 to 2012 and was a member of major legislative committees including the Women Bishops Revision Committee. She is currently a member of the Archbishops’ Spending Plans Task Group. She is a member of English ARC and during her time at Leicester chaired sub-committees of the local FE college and Leicester Theatre Trust. She was elected to the AEC Executive in June 2009 and served as Chairman from June 2009 to 2015. She became Chairman of the Deans’ Conference in August 2015 and is a now member of the AEC Executive by virtue of that appointment.
