Julie Gittoes became Residentiary Canon for Education at Guildford Cathedral in 2012. She is responsible for developing the educational work of the Cathedral including adult learning, overseeing work with schools, deepening partnerships with the Diocese and developing lectures which engage with issues in the public square. Julie continues to teach doctrine for the South East Institute of Theological Education (SEITE) and is a member of the Society for the Study of Theology (SST), chairing the ‘Church, Ministry and Theology’ Seminar. She writes on theological issues, including the Eucharist, and has recently co-edited ‘Generous Ecclesiology: Church, World and the Kingdom of God’. Julie’s other interests include politics, film, art and fiction. She was co-opted onto the AEC Executive in October 2015.
