Caroline Jarvis joined Southwell Minster as Chapter Clerk in 2006. Before that her career had been in art administration, working in museums and galleries both in this country and abroad. She was the first director of the National Centre for Craft and Design in Lincolnshire. She finds that life in a Cathedral as a Chapter Clerk is not so different from that in an art gallery – especially dealing with a wide variety people, buildings, not losing sight of core values and trying to balance a budget. She was elected as Chair of CAFA in September 2011, and sits on the AEC by virtue of that appointment.
