Deans’ Conference

The Deans’ Conference provides the opportunity for the Deans of the 42 English Anglican Cathedrals, and the Deans of St George’s Chapel, Windsor and Westminster Abbey, to meet to discuss matters of mutual interest and to provide support and assistance to each other.
There is an annual residential conference which is hosted by a different cathedral or cathedrals each year. The deans also meet twice a year in London.
The Conference organises training for newly installed deans.
The Conference appoints a Chairman (the Dean of Canterbury, the Very Rev’d Robert Willis), a Secretary (the Dean of Gloucester, the Very Rev’d Stephen Lake) and a Treasurer (the Sub-Dean of Christ Church, Oxford, the Rev’d Canon Dr Ed Newall).
